Everything You Wanted to Know About Odessa Dates But Were Too Embarrassed to Ask. Apprehensive about signing up for the new dating website sweeping the country? Don’t worry, Odessa Digest has all the scoop on Odessa Dates and why it’s all the rage! It’s free to sign up: The website boasts about being super inclusive and wanting to provide ease of access for anybody interested in joining. That’s why it’s free for anybody to sign up, no matter where they live in Odessa. The Odessa Royal Family is behind its creation: According to Odessa Dates’ webmaster, everything on the website from its’ features to even its’ name came from the Royal Family. “The King and Queen realize that Odessa is rapidly growing and changing. They want to reflect that in the way that young people meet and date people,” their webmaster said in an email to Odessa Digest. “That’s the whole purpose behind Odessa Dates--bringing people together.” It took over a year to create and launch: It took careful planning, designing and creating to bring Odessa Dates to life. The most time was spent on the website’s state-of-the-art matching software that allows only the most compatible of profiles to be matched with one another. Rumor has it: Some sources close to the Royal Family hinted that it’s possible that members of the Royal Family have their own secret profiles underneath a different name. The Royal Family’s Communications Office would not confirm or deny this when asked by Odessa Digest. *page_break *set var 1 *goto articlechoice #Admit It: The Crown Hates Love. Admit It: The Crown Hates Love. Disclaimer: This is an opinion piece by Julie Taylor for The Odessa-Times Chronicle, Odessa’s oldest daily newspaper. This piece does not necessarily reflect the views of the paper. Wake up, citizens of Odessa! The Royal Family doesn’t care about you, much less love. The latest proof of this is with the creation of Odessa Dates, a dating website claiming to be able to match you up with your perfect match. It’s pretty suspicious that the creation of this website just happened to be announced around the same time many news outlets, including The Odessa-Times Chronicle, blasted how many City Heads throughout cities all across Odessa were not doing their jobs properly. Whether it was money mishandling from a City Head from Barba or a sex scandal from a City Head in Jolley, it’s obvious that Odessa Dates is just damage control. With the Love Festival coming up, it’s obvious that the Crown really wants the country to talk about something else. What better way to do this than launching a website dedicated around finding “true love” and “your soulmate”? If the Crown really wanted to convince people that they loved love, they would enact policies that help the people of Odessa, rather than hurt them. *page_break *set var 1 *goto articlechoice #EXCLUSIVE: King of Odessa Talks About Odessa Dates, The Crown’s Newest Citizen Venture EXCLUSIVE: King of Odessa Talks About Odessa Dates, The Crown’s Newest Citizen Venture. In this exclusive interview with Technology Today, King Frederick Wyman talks with senior reporter Jeff Peaks about the website blowing Odessa's other dating websites out of the water. Peaks: Thank you for joining me today, Your Majesty. It’s truly an honor to interview you. To begin, please tell me the inspiration behind Odessa Dates. King Wyman: Certainly. Odessa Dates arose from, believe it or not, my child’s break up. My child will have to find somebody to love again without the help of the website, but I decided that I wanted to make the love finding process a bit easier for my loyal citizens. So Odessa Dates was born...after about a year or so of planning. Peaks: That’s right. Your child’s breakup dominated the news cycle for quite a while. What do you have to say about the rumors that one or both of your children has a secret profile on Odessa Dates? King Wyman: Obviously false. I’ve learned a long time ago not to interfere with my children’s love lives, as it leads to nothing but arguments and trouble. Peaks: Ha, wish I could follow your advice about my own children. My husband would surely love me more if I did. What is your favorite thing about Odessa Dates, Your Majesty? King Wyman: It’s quite entertaining to see all the talk on social media about it. My wife is more of the social media lover, but from time to time she shows me how excited one person is to get matched with somebody, or how their first date went. Peaks: One final question, Your Majesty. Will there be any other ventures similar to Odessa Dates launched in the future? King Wyman: Depending upon the success of Odessa Dates, I’m sure more will be in development as the country needs. Odessa Dates is the most successful program in history and we hope to keep improving it before moving on to something else entirely. *page_break *set var 1 *goto articlechoice #How Odessa Dates Is Changing The Way Odessa Dates How Odessa Dates Is Changing The Way Odessa Dates In this month’s issue of Odessa Business, we break down just how a website created by King Wyman and his website developers became one of the country’s most successful startups. The beginnings Odessa Dates was initially kept very hush-hush. Information about the new website began leaking in the spring of last year. All that was known at the time was that it was going to be royal affiliated. Towards the end of the spring season, a video introducing Odessa Dates was posted on all of the Royal Family’s social media pages. It featured King Frederick and Queen Ramona, as well as their two children all talking and gushing about the features of Odessa Dates and what the website was for. It formally launched in the summer and has been popular ever since. The craze Odessa Dates quickly rose in popularity the minute it hit the market. The accompanying mobile app hit number one in every app store in the country and on the day of the website’s launch, the website was down for over an hour due to demand. People began signing up by the thousands, causing the Crown to hire an extensive amount of workers and interns to help with the demand. As the weeks went on, it became hard to walk or travel anywhere in Odessa without seeing an advertisement about the website or hearing about success stories. The backlash Of course, the Crown can rarely do anything without backlash. Many anti-Crown organizations across Odessa, like the Odessenters, protested the creation of the website and attempted to start a petition to get it taken down. The petition never gained much steam and was later shut down by the website due to lack of interest. The way the website works After signing up for the website, the website’s software searches its database for the most compatible matches depending upon a series of questions one answers during the registration process. The matches are sent via email or through an app notification. You’re sent as little as three matches and as many as five. From there it is up to you to organize the date or dates if the first one doesn’t work out. The data Odessa Dates has successfully created over 100,000 matches, with about 75 percent of individuals making it past a second date. Those that did not make it past a first date with their initial match are usually able to find success on their second or third matches. Less than 5 percent of individuals were unable to have a successful date after exhausting all their matches, according to records obtained through an open records request. A handful have gone on to get engaged and married after meeting on the website. Other websites like InHarmony and Dating Through Odessa have seen dramatic decreases in usage since the launch of Odessa Dates and have tried to get users back by offering various promos and special features. More on that in next month’s issue of Odessa Business. *set var 1 *page_break *goto articlechoice #Done reading. *goto_scene chapter1_theinternscont
