Has severe identity issues and needs someone blunt and honest to help her learn to be honest with herself Resolutions - Through their interactions, Jessy can realize she is her own person that is independent of what others think of her. Also teaching the PC that they are not defined by their past and can decide today to be whoever they want to be. Jason: External Conflict - The PC Internal Conflict - Severe trust issues. Resolutions - Jason can form a bond with the PC that, if honored, will make Jason realize how much he's lost by shutting out others and that if he wants to be better, he needs to accept that other people exist that want to help him. Jason and PC resolve to support each other. Junior: External Conflict - Rival inside the group who is turning his gang into a more violent and hateful group of criminals. Internal Conflict - Dealing with the fact his mother is dying despite everything he went through to give her a better life, making him feel like all his effort has been pointless. Alternatively, he can let the gang go and decide to move on with his life. Or, he could try to challenge the rival, fail, and also die. Lucy: External Conflict - Is finding that her father's (and by extension, her's) territory and criminal enterprises are being pressed upon. Is worried that her father isn't capable of dealing with it, so enlists the PCs help in taking matters into her own hands. Jessy - go to mall with Jessy and Jason. Jessy will try to stir things up, get some insight into her and Jason's relationship. Lucy+Jessy - Go to mall with Lucy, Jessy, and Jason. Discover a rivalry due to Jessy having tried to run for student council president. Pick a side. Toby - Walk home. On the way, Toby will try to take you to a cheeseburger stand (special line if you said you haven't had one). Run into trouble from Junior's gang. Junior - Do some fighting in Junior's hangout. Get some insight into the internal politics of Junior's gang. How he's being undermined by the guy who looks after things while Junior is in school. Driving with Kenneth - Vi might be here. Ken will drive you home. In which case, that conversation with him later on will be front-loaded to here. Wherever you go, if you don't call Daniel to let him know where you're going, he'll have to come get you. 2-6: Arrive home Have some time to yourself. Can take care of your homework. If you couldn't decide on what to paint, you can do some more soulsearching here. Will also get a chance to snoop on some of Daniel's documents. Read some progress reports, figure out what he thinks of you at this point. Ken will show up before Daniel. Have a chance to talk with him. Learn that Ken is clinically diagnosed with Schizoid Personality Disorder, which means his ability for emotion and empathy is severely limited. He'll spill the beans on what Patel has been planning: he wants the PC to become an agent for the CIA, to replace Daniel (as he is scheduled for a forced retirement sometime in the next year). PC can offer their input. Ken will respond, leave, and the PC will be alone again. 2-6: Taken Home You didn't tell Daniel where you were going, and he had to come get you. 2-7: Flashback PC will have a playable flashback to their time in a combat zone. With their "brother." The followup to that sniper flashback they had to deal with earlier. Ends with the sniper being dead, the duo escaped, the "brother" saying they might as well make a run for it. The PC can try to accept the offer, but the narration upon awaking will reveal that the PC decided to go back to the military like a good soldier because "what else could we do?" Have some regrets about how that decision ended up dooming your best friend. 2-8: Home drama Come on out of your room. See Daniel trying to cook something (which he is terrible at). Get a chance to talk to him about what's happened thus far. Can improve or hurt your relationship. 2-9companion: Companion stuff (confirming romance or friendship) Lucy - Go to Lucy's house. See her home life; she lives in a bit house with lots of security, but no family. Jessy - Call Jessy and get a chance to meet up. She'll want to go wherever you want to go. Get the option to do "typical teenager stuff" or do some hardcore soldier stuff. In the former case, neither of you end up having a good time as you realize that you're both putting on an act. In the latter, Jessy ends up actually having a really good time. Jason - Call Jason and get a chance to meet up. He's in the middle of football practice and you can go over there to meet up. Toby - Hang out with Toby at a zoo. He'll mention that one of his friends had been put in a hospital. MC can decide that they're going to protect Toby. Junior - Try to visit Junior, but learn he's somewhere else. After dealing with some harrassment, go try to track Junior down. Learn he's at the hospital visiting someone. Meet him at the entrance. Bond over your dying and dead mothers. Vi - Decide to go somewhere with Vi. Just the two of you. Here you'll face the consequences of however you've treated her up til now. 2-9alone: Go out around town Will have to ditch Vi. Otherwise it defaults to her scene. Will go about town for a time. Have a think about the nature of this society you have found yourself in and what place in it you would like to have. Consider the possibility of living alone forever, maybe off the grid. Maybe join the CIA. Will get another opportunity to call Ken to accept the offer behind Daniel's back. 2-10: Intercepted On your way home from wherever, you'll be intercepted by Professor Patel. If you accepted Ken's offer, he'll be expected. If not, it's a surprise. Either way, he's here to deliver some surprising news. Having managed to crack your accomplices, they discovered the location of a base state-side that was used by your old organization. He wonders if you would want to be part of the operation to raid it. If you accepted Ken's offer, you already made your decision. If not, you have your chance to turn back. 2-11raid: Conduct the raid on the place. There will be some additional challenge if your skills have dulled or your humanity has risen. If you've become too human, you'll end up getting injured in the mission. While you're there, you will discover a personal effect of your old best friend. Revealing that he is still alive. 2-11-1recovery: You got injured on the job and went unconscious. Have a flashback to the moment you betrayed your brother and left him for dead. Wake up, you'll find that you're in an field hospital. Making a recovery. Ken will be there, and you'll have a bit of a philisophical discussion about whether or not it is possible to be deserving of redemption. "Funny thing about redemption. If you deserve it, you probably don't need it. But if you need it, doesn't that mean you don't deserve it?" Afterward, Daniel will barge in. He'll be angry at Ken, but Ken will tell him that he should have expected this. "The agency always gets what it wants." You and Daniel will both be told that you'll go home after being recovered, but Daniel was effectively retired. You're going to have his job now. 2-11-2ride: Same deal, except you're not injured in a field hospital. You took a nap on the ride home, where you had the flashback, and Ken will walk you back into your house. Where the same argument will be had with Daniel. 2-11home: Arrive home where Daniel is absent. Take some time to think about your relationship. How long you expect your arrangement to go, what you'll do afterwards. Can make some progress on your drawing, or some other activity. Protag will go to sleep, have a flashback to how you and your brother met. Will be woken up in the middle of the night by the sound of someone making noise in the living room. Will come out ready for a fight, find Daniel stumbling in. He smells like gunpowder, but is limping as walks to the kitchen and comes back to the living room with a drink. It's clear he's been shot and on painkillers. His mental defenses are down and he looks like a complete wreck. Something you haven't seen before. Can have a heart-to-heart and, if your relationship is high enough, get him to confess why he decided to destroy his career by taking you in.
