Used for pushing physical obstacles, getting through tightly closed doors, and for overpowering dogs and people. *line_break [b]Agility[/b] How fast you can run (without getting specific). A high agility stat means you could even outrun a Greyhound or Borzoi. *line_break [b]Dexterity[/b] How easily you can squeeze through tight spaces, avoid bumping into people or dogs, and at higher levels, you can even avoid dog catchers! *line_break [b]Intelligence[/b] How smart you are depends on where you are, what you've learned, and choices you've made. Intelligence affects how you interact with puzzling situations, but also how well you understand humans. At high levels, you can even out think most humans. *line_break [b]Scent[/b] Obviously dogs can smell well, but the higher the stat, the better you can smell. Some dogs can smell average for their species and breed, but some dogs have a much keener sense and can smell things that might be missed by others. *line_break [b]Sight[/b] All dogs can see well, even in the dark. But there are some that have a much better developed sight. A normal dog can navigate at night with ease, but a higher sight means you might see some extra food, an unseen enemy, or maybe you can find the treats in a pitch black pantry! *line_break [b]Hearing[/b] All dogs have excellent hearing, but the higher this stat, the more you can hear. Most dogs will hear traffic sounds, humans talking, and other dogs. At a higher stat, you can hear water trickling in the sewers when near a grate, you could hear a kitten playing two alleys over, and hear a person calling for help from two blocks away! *line_break *line_break [b]SPECIAL STATS These stats are typically taught by humans or special dogs. Some breeds may already have a point in some stats due to their breed history, but the majority of breeds will need to learn these skills from elsewhere. [/b] *line_break [b]Guarding[/b] A special stat awarded to dogs who show the ability or get the training to protect other dogs and humans. Usually goes hand in hand with strength, sight, and hearing. *line_break [b]Draft Pulling[/b] Useless for strays, Draft Pulling is for dogs who participate in dog shows. A harness is put on you, then you are attached to a cart that is filled with a varying amount of weight. Strength is needed for Draft pulling, and Agility helps. *line_break [b]Herding[/b] Using sight, hearing, intelligence, and agility, herding doesn't just apply to sheep or cattle here. Herding can be used for humans if your a police dog, and it can be used to herd prey animals towards your humans if your a hunting dog. It's also part of dog shows. *line_break [b]Hunting[/b] Agility, dexterity, and strength are key assets for hunting dogs. Sight and smell are required and if their not high enough, you won't gain any hunting experience. Hunting is used not only for prey, but also for police dogs. *line_break [b]Rescue[/b] Strength, hearing, sight, and smell are essential for a rescue dog. Digging through rubble, sniffing out injured people and animals, trying to locate people in a river, and even jumping into a fire are all things that can be accomplished as a rescue dog. *line_break [b]Speed[/b] Agility and dexterity are required to have Speed, which in this case means being able to not only run fast, but to weave, jump, crawl, and be able to make snap decisions in the blink of an eye. Speed is helpful in all situations, being essential for dog shows, rescue, police, & firehouse dogs. *line_break [b]Therapy[/b] Hearing and intelligence are extremly vital for therapy dogs, as you need to be able to tell when a human or animal needs comfort, and you must be able to recognize if they don't want company or you risk making their problems worse. Strength can be helpful, but a strong dog can sometimes be too strong and accidently knock down a human if their not careful. *line_break [b]Service[/b] No skill is deemed unnecessary to be a service dog and gain the service skills. Service allows your dog to recognize when a human is having an emotional episode, a panic attack, or even a seizure.
